SVĚTOVA 1 is a community-oriented nonprofit artist-run space in Prague 8–Libeň, founded in 2018 by Zai Xu with their family’s support. It focuses on emerging, queer, and social issues through educational activities, public programming, art residencies, and exhibitions. Its activities explore artistic experimentation and research, critical discourse, and how art-making creates opportunities for defiance and resilience. In solidarity, the space adapts to the needs of like-minded collaborators, acting as a refuge while maintaining sustainability and continually negotiating its autonomy within traditional structures.
